What information do we collect?   How do we use it? 
We log browser information (e.g. Internet Protocol addresses and browser types) to help diagnose problems with our server, gather broad demographic info to help market our site, and to administer our web site.

We may conduct online surveys and ask visitors for demographic information (e.g. zip code).  We may use their contact info to uniquely identify the user so that duplicate surveys are not taken from the same person.  We use this data to tailor our visitor's experience or display content according to their preferences.  Again, we will not give out or sell this information.

What about “cookies”?
We do not use them on the main site.  Our message boards use them only to assist you in logging on.

In summary we are committed to protecting your privacy.  We use the information we collect to provide a better experience for you on our web site.  The Chesapeake Bay Guide is not a business.  We are a not for profit web site.
